Has anyone made a teardown to the garden.bin for ACNL?

Nearly all of the tools like map editors and such for ACNL are for RAM dumps, but I'm using a garden.bin. There's a very nice web-based editor for garden.bin that edits a lot of things, but I want to be able to edit the actual layout of my town, like being able to change the land tiles like in the map editor for RAM dumps floating around.

I want to do it with a hex editor, but there's no teardown yet.

After looking at how unnecessarily complicated current CIA converting methods are, I decided to write this tool. It's very simple and doesn't use Python or .NET Framework or any other programs and scripts, just my own code in a single exe file.

This release consist of IPS patch for AGB_FIRM and ROM converting program, both done by me.
Credit for patched New3DS AGB_FIRM goes to motezazer

My method require you to install patched AGB_FIRM CIA into NAND memory replacing exciting one. Now... AGB_FIRM is an optional System Title that was introduced with 3.0.0 firmware update and was never included with Card updates. Which means you can't really break system by deleting it...

So far the save for money has been an easy value to find in 08 09 and 0A





and while I've changed the values to 999999 and the save file reflects the change in the load save file screen, upon loading the save file, the game still shows my original money value when I visit a shop.

Anyone with any expertise in this, would gladly appreciate help in this.

All,

I'm working on editting a game at the moment, and have cracked several of the Hex encodings used on files within the game. But I am absolutely stumped as to what to do next.

First off, in the RomFS, under \romfs\data\Event\Demo, there are a bunch of Gzip Compressed files with the E extension. When you extract them you get a file without an extension (Demo002). This is an SCR file as shown through a hex editor (in the header, first 3 bytes). I've uploaded this file.

Hello,
maybe someone can help me out to find where and how to calculate the crc for the save of tales of the abyss,
i have converted the .3ds to card 2 format and used savedatafiller to extract the data, i have already found some values inside but as soon as i modify something it result as a corrupted save. inside there are 3 save TOA_000 (slot 1 save) and the only difference is the time elapsed, TOA_001 is the second save slot not modified

0x0 0xf all the same for all the save
0x10 0x11...

I've identified the offset for JP for the freelancer job (had to start a new save file after conversion, so only had that one). 0000C032.



The value is 2x the JP you have in that job, so 4=2; 8=4; C=6. Successfully edited to 62 (98, 49) and Freelancer changed to Lv. 2 19/70; then edited to 1027 (10000. 5000) and Freelancer changed to Lv. 9 2500/3500; then to 90E2 for Mastered!

To max a normal job, set JP to 80BB. To max Freelancer, set JP to...

Please tell me a way to run RxTools without internet other then mset, i changed my mset since my mset is pretty messed up. I have 7.0 but i installed 4.0 mset on my 3ds, but i want to know another way to run RxTools.

Well guys, finally I released a first alpha version of the editor. That's the link.

Now you can register on and upload your userX file. Note that when you will download your file edited, by default it will download as user1.

I think there's a little bug with the locale system. By default always is in English.

Notice: there is a bann system, so don't try to modify anything at client side.

If you encounter a bug I'll apreciate your help for improve...
