For a long time, people have been asking for a condensed post or somewhere were every piece of ROM hacking knowledge can be easily accessed, so I'll be using the main post of this thread and update it as I make new discoveries (or someone else really), this should hopefully motivate people to poke around some more and hopefully get the ROM hacking scene off to a good start (This will not cover Custom DLC injection, that's an entirely different thing altogether).

Forget cia files and cfw I found a site that has every cia in .3ds gateway only!!!

For all the ppl bad mouthing gateway I don't even have to do all that junk now!!!!I can get any one of those dumb cia games in gateway format only!!!I tested 3 already and they work flawlessly!! That other I so site is better

Hello, I have been recently working on making Custom roms for Sky3DS. I have made some results, but I still stucked on anothers.
I made my way to repack an official rom with a translation patch I am working on with some friends. Here's a video showing proof of it: (by the way, my gf's 3ds cart reader is almost broken --the contact metals got shortened-- so I have to put a post it note behind the sky3ds to make it work, do not blame me about it) (and about the bad video quality, my connection...

What happens to unfinished FREeshop downloads?

does anyone know what happens to unfinished freeshop downloads? I noticed my remaining space was 4.4g, and after clicking download freeshop preemptively changes it to accommodate the new download even though its not actually there yet, and after my 3ds crashed during a download, the in progress download is gone from freeshop but the remaining space is still 2.9g. basically, i started downloading 2 games, 1 which was 1.2g, and one that was .5g. the 1.2 one finished meaning my remaining space...

What happens to unfinished FREeshop downloads?

This Hack is a saving function fix for all the pokemon gba games, for all languages, for all versions (1.0 / 1.1).

[Fire Red, Leaf green, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald]

This hack was initially made by RIKU (gbatemp) then dumped and improved by Yafee and AmeenX!

Usage:

Warning: - Don't use Sram patch, just apply this hex mod and you're good to go
- If you wanna apply this to a 32MB hack rom, apply the ROM hack ips to the pokemon rom then apply this hex mod!...

decrypting >4gb 3ds rom

here's my dilemma, I have resident evil revelation encrypted .3ds Rom which I am trying to convert to cia in order to install on my 3ds, but the 3ds rom is a little over 4gb and can't be moved to my 64gb ad card because of the fat32 file system, I am trying to decrypt that rom using my 3ds but I can't because of the fat file system can't have >4gb file, what's the best solution for this scenario? Thanks

had some spare time so i put this ntr plugin together which would give you Non-Playable Characters and the characters you can only play as once (the kids)
