I'm working on editting a game at the moment, and have cracked several of the Hex encodings used on files within the game. But I am absolutely stumped as to what to do next.

First off, in the RomFS, under \romfs\data\Event\Demo, there are a bunch of Gzip Compressed files with the E extension. When you extract them you get a file without an extension (Demo002). This is an SCR file as shown through a hex editor (in the header, first 3 bytes). I've uploaded this file.

Sorry to ask this, Im freaking out to do something stupid and messing up my emunand.

Can I install bigbluebox and devmenu using rxtools? Im confusing because those apps is for gateway cart right?

I want to downgrade the web browser and to do that I need to use those apps, fbi couldnt install the .cia downgrade

I've been getting some great use out of a Chinese cheat plugin for FE:I and was thinking that some other individuals would like to have a more comprehensive way of using the tool. This is more easier (and faster) than deleting/renaming files and folders manually for play in the language you want.
Just put the exe in the same folder as HackingToolkit, and run it.

Enter 1 if you want play in French, then you have just to rebuild your RomFS, then your game.
Enter 2 if you want play in German, then you have just to rebuild your RomFS, then...

Capcom decided to use a non-SSL connection again for transferring DLC files so we can still proxy in replacements, but they did change the file formats (and encryption algorithm, obviously).

This save editor does have bugs, one being that it directly modifies the save files that it opens, so make a backup of the save file before opening it with this editor. Also this editor is written in a very old language, however should still work for what it is intended to do. I used another source program written in the said language as a template, and made this Editor. When someone else create an SSB3DS editor and release it, that editor will most likely supersede this one.

I was just thinking, what if we could be able to decrypt 3DS ROMs without needing a 3DS console or xorpads to do so?

Well, I was actually wondering, how can I be able to find keyslot 0x2C for KeyX? This keyslot is known to be the main NCCH key for decrypting 3DS ROMs since the very beginning, we could might as well call it a "common key". As it's documented here: https://3dbrew.org/wiki/AES_Registers

Hey Guys,

I've just checked the files inside of the romfs of "Daigyakuten Saiban - Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken".

I saw that the files should be really easy to edit (romfs:/script/ & romfs:/msg/).
This files have a .gmd-fileextension and they're almost completely readable when you're convert it to UTF8.

Ok so here is something I was working on recently - 'UpdateCDN'
It downloads the titles ('programs') that make up a 3DS FW update and create .cias to use with devmenu (import all - L+R+A is useful here!)
It uses the CSV files on http://yls8.mtheall.com/ninupdates/reports.php - without the work this guy did to get this data in the first place this would not exist!

From my 4.5 JPN emunand, I manually updated to 6.3, and then manually downgraded (via an ugly trick/hack)...

I made a Monster Hunter X quest editor that runs in your web browser :)
It's still very much a work in progress so it's still pretty limited (and ugly looking), but it works.

Current limitations:
  • Only works with decrypted DLC quests.
  • You can only modify what's already in the quest.
  • Many of the settings don't have very good descriptions.
  • Many of the item/monster ID settings don't have dropdowns.
  • Small monster info is left in hex because the format is unknown.
